As I sit here on the boat once more, I wanted to write on some strange happenings of late. It seems that 2 days ago, some snow elves came in to town. (Technically, they were elven toy makers, but snow followed them when they moved, and they could throw snow at you and the like, so we decided to call them snow elves.)
Anyway, when I walked into the commons, there was one. She was beautiful, for an elf. She was talking and handing out toys. Mostly bunnies and aardvarks for Fluffy (the town rabbit) and Snuffy (the town aardvark).
The snow elf gave me a toy aardvark! It was cute. A friend of mine has recently moved to a different town, and she's been homesick. So, she came up for a visit, and I gave her my aardvark so she could always have some of the town with her.
I went into the Landing again to take yet another step. I just took my 23rd step. I'm getting close to mastering in the Order of Voln.

Another Boat Ride
It seems the only time I have to write is when I'm on the boat to and from the Landing.
I've been training regularly, as well as taking more Steps in the Order of Voln. Today, I just took my 24th training in the cleric school, and I just took my 22nd Step.
For the most part, things have been quiet. I've tried to hunt some Trolls in the Jungle south of town last night. I was doing rather well, but unfortunately, the troll chieftain decided to smash my skull in, killing me instantly. I was rescued by Frue and Xylur, but with no clerics around, we had to find the interesting Saltwater Sal to raise me. Her fee was a muffin. What a strange woman.

Journey continues
I find myself on the boat again, so I thought I'd write some more. I'm having to head back to the Landing to take another step in the Order of Voln. This will be my 19th step (out of 25). I've very excited.
This evening is much quieter than last weekend. River's Rest was invaded by Trolls. It appears that a troll left da rest of da trolls, and came into River's Rest to hide from the other Trolls. We decided not to turn him over to da trolls, so they tried to come and take him by force.
I wasn't sure if I should try to fight them off, or stay safe in our Sanctuary and be ready for bodies that needed resurrection. So, I decided to start off fighting. I did alright for a while, but once I started taking damage from some of the trolls, I ran to the sanctuary. Shortly thereafter we started having people that needed to be resurrected.
We did pretty well. We lost just a fraction compared to the numbers they lost, but for whatever reason, whatever his reasoning, the troll decided to turn himself over to them. He felt we would not survive, so he turned himself in for us.
Shortly thereafter, we saw a pillar of black smoke come from the jungle south of town and then the trolls left town.
We were upset he turned himself over to them, but we couldn't stop him.
It was a very exciting and nerve wracking evening.

The Beginning
I'm having problems figuring out where to start. Since I haven't started journaling as I began my journey's that makes it sort of difficult.
While I sit here waiting for a boat ride back to Rivers Rest, I thought I would take some time and write.
I guess I'll write a bit about who I am in the unlikely event of an untimely death. I am Kamter Versten, Dwarf Cleric. I've got long, dark brown hair with brown eyes and rather tan for a dwarf as I don't spend as much time underground.
I had an unpleasant childhood, or as best as I can determine as I can't remember any of it. I've been told that is usually caused by a traumatic experience.
All I really remember was as a youngster, I was in the catacombs under Wehnimers' Landing taking care of some giant rats, and I ran across a Lesser Shade. I tried to kill him, but my mace was unable to harm the creature. I was confused, but wise enough to know to leave, but as I turned to leave, the creature killed me.
As my body laid there and the creature gloated over my dead body, My Lady Lorminstra came to me in a vision. She told me that she would not let me through the Ebon Gate because she had work for me to do here. She wanted me to become a cleric for her. She explained to me that this creature that killed me was undead, not dead, but not really living.
One of the tasks she had for me was to release these poor pitiful creatures from their torment.
She informed me that soon I would move to a town called River's Rest, far south from the Landing, and she had important work for me there. But I must stay here for a bit longer. She told me a grizzled warrior would soon come to me here in the Landing and that I should speak with him. He had information that would help me fulfill her calling on my life.
As my vision faded, an older cleric walked out of a fog, and took me back to Town Square Central where an empath healed me, and he raise me.
After that, I worked hard, and kept my eyes open for this warrior Lorminsta said I would meet.
One day, shortly after my third training as a cleric of Lorminsta, this grizzled warrior came up to me. He told me a story very similar to my own, and told me of a pool close to the Landing that I should visit. So I followed Lorminsta's words, and did as the warrior said. I sought out this place.
It was here I learned of the Order of Voln. It is a society devoted to the freeing of undead from the torment they endure on Elanthia. It was then I truly started my journey. I stayed around the Landing a bit longer as I took my first few steps in the Order of Voln. Around my 5th training as a Cleric, I journeyed to River's Rest.
River's Rest was a much smaller town than it is today, and getting to it was also much easier. There use to be a large magical boot that you could put crystal amulets in, and it would magically transport you there. That is no longer the case. One must now journey to Sol Haven and pay for passage on a smuggler's boat. But this hassle is worth it.
To me, River's Rest is small town. Though we don't always get along, the people that live there are close. This was nothing like I had experienced in the Landing. The Rest quickly became home.
Here, in my new home, I started to work on my calling. In the Citadel not far from the Rest, I found Greater Ghouls, and Mist Wraiths that needed to be released. I dispatched these creatures. It wasn't easy, but was worth it. I grew stonger, and I took my steps in the Order of Voln, and I continued m'Ladies work.
Later I moved on to Firephantoms and Bone Golems. It was here in this small town I first had the opportunity to raise another from the dead, and what a thrill to be able to give of myself to help another. I remember it wasn't long after my 12th training that I had this opportunity. I was the only cleric in town when one of our friends fell. I was so nervous. I so wanted to show these people of this wonderful town that I could be of use to them. I so wanted to show m'Lady that I could server her in this way as well.
All did go well, and I continued to grow stronger.
Then one day came, and I left the lands of Elanthia.
But as you probably can guess I did indeed come back, or I'd not be on this boat ride.
Well, I'm back at the Rest and I must get off this boat before they kick me off.

Journal
I've decided to scroll me adventures through the lands of Elanthia. There have been many an adventure I've wanted to recall, but time blurs the memory. So by keeping this journal, I hope to preserve my memories for days when I'm old (hopefully), I can recall the adventures of me youth.
