Krolvins are everywhere!

The last two days have been crazy in our normally quiet town. Last night, someone ran through the Commons, and while there, dropped a box and kept running. Shortly thereafter, a Krolvin scout came into the Commons after him. Before he had a chance to blink he was killed as others were screaming not to kill him, find out what he wants.

Later, another Krolvin comes in, and he too is killed. Then yet another Krolvin comes in. He's none to happy that we killed his emissaries. They originally came for the box, but that was no longer good enough... they were coming for us. We drew up lines and prepared for battle.

Wave after wave of Krolvin came into town. We fought them off well. Even I was able to help out in the battle for some time. But eventually, they were getting to strong for me, and I resigned to perform my clerical duties of raising the fallen. Over all, the battle went well. We lost only a few people, and the streets of our town ran red with Krolvin blood!

Tonight, another emissary came to town. He wanted compensation of the box they lost yesterday. At 10 times it worth. Needless to say, he was not given the money, and I believe he was given the business end of someones weapon, though I wasn't there to see.

Once again, we found ourselves preparing for battle. We had a much larger group tonight then last night, and we even had at least 2 healers tonight. As with most invasions, I help on the front lines until I am no more use. I did well yet again. But as the waves of Wayfarers and Corsairs came I realized there were too many of them for me to stay safely, and as that wave ended, I went back to the Sanctuary and prepared for the dead to arrive.

And when they arrived, the arrived in droves. But this was fine. Get them healed, and I can get them up. Slowly since it was just me, but I knew I could do it. Then to my surprise, both of the healers we had had fallen asleep, and we could not wake them. Frustration set in at this point. I started to tend wounds, and as I did, another cleric came in and helped. As we started to get the first couple up, one of the healers awoke and finally started healing. We got 2 of the bodies up, but because of the way some of the spells work, it takes a bit before I can raise again. I found this more and more frustrating as the bodies continued to roll into the Sanctuary. Occasionally, other clerics would come in and raise, and leave almost as quickly.

The battle ranged on for what seemed like forever. I'm sure it truly did for the dead in my care. At one point, I heard a panicked krolvin shout:
...the dubra is fallen!
I'm not sure what the dubra was, but shortly thereafter, they ran for longboat they had hidden, and other escape routes. It seems the battle was over. Many of us managed to survive, we were able to fend off the town from them, but somehow, it didn't seem like the victory that we had the night before.
